Verhuisbedrijf Nieuw Begin was founded by Benjamin van der Meer. He has worked as a mover for fourteen years and has run his own company for a year and a half.
We drive our own vans with a regular crew, for private customers, businesses and moves within Europe.

Frequently asked questions
What does a move with you cost?
We charge based on the hours worked, with a generously estimated quote. For items heavier than 80 kilos there is a surcharge of 20 to 50 euros per mover. Assembly, materials and tools are included. You can find the hourly rate on the prices page.
Why no fixed price in advance?
A fixed price without seeing the situation is only possible with a margin built in, and you pay that margin even when it is not needed. That is why we estimate generously and you pay for the hours we work. If it goes faster, you pay less. Would you rather have one fixed amount? Then we come and look first.
What if it takes longer than the quote?
We estimate the hours generously, so usually the quote is right or you are finished sooner. If there is more to move on the day than agreed, you will hear about it before we start. If it still runs over, we charge the extra time at the same hourly rate.
Do you also work outside Alphen aan den Rijn?
Yes, everywhere. Up to 150 kilometres the journey is included in the hours. We also go further, and then the travel costs are listed separately on the quote. We have moved customers from Enschede to Portugal.
Do you take furniture apart and put it back together?
Yes, at no extra charge. We take beds, wardrobes and tables apart and put them back together at the new address. That is part of moving.
